Tips On Creating A Successful Woozworld Shop

Hey all! Today I thought I might make a post on how to create your own successful shop on Woozworld. It's a bit more tricky to earn money on Woozworld than it is on other virtual world websites, as there aren't games you can spam over and over again to get money from. You have to create your own games and shops in order to 'make a living'.

The main reason most shops can end up unsuccessful is that owners make their prices much too high in relation to the item. While this is understandable, as you obviously want to make a profit, and maybe those items mean something to you, it is not a good way to make your store popular and make money.

My 'cheap shop' unit

One thing I've done, and I've noticed a lot of other people do on Woozworld, is have different types of shops. For me, I have a 'cheap' shop, where I sell my unwanted clothing and furniture for cheap prices, and a 'rich and rare' shop, where I sell more expensive items for, obviously, more expensive prices. In order to make this setup successful, you definitely have to keep in mind that nobody is going to buy items that are too expensive. Believe me, I've fallen into that trap before. Here are a few basic tips on making sure you can both make a profit and be a successful 'business owner'.

1. Don't get attached!

Even now I have quite a lot of clothing in my inventory that I never use, nor will I probably ever use it, but I feel reluctant to sell it 'just because'. However, recently I've put some of the really unused items up for sale, and I've ended up making a bigger profit and be able to buy items I actually want to use as a result. I definitely don't regret selling those items now.

2. Don't be too reluctant to lower prices.

A very common problem is that owners of shops don't want to lower their prices. While this is completely understandable if the person is asking for a much too low price, or the item is well sought after, however sometimes, even if you think lowering a rich item from 5000 beex to 4000 beex is too much, it may be the best option, and it's entirely possible that you wouldn't have sold it otherwise. Also, if all of your prices are lower overall, it's much more likely that more people will come to your shop, and you'll sell more items as a whole.

3. Make it pretty!

While aesthetic isn't everything, arranging your shop well is good to attract shoppers. Whenever I look for shops by searching for units, I often go by the thumbnail photo of the unit as well as the name, and if the photo shows a haphazard unit filled with randomly coloured and placed shop podz, I'm much less likely to go to it. Having at least one or two mannequins also doesn't hurt, as people can see some of your items before even looking around.

Well, while I do have a few other tips in mind, I might save them for another post. I hope this helps you out though, and thanks for reading!

Tips On Winning Star Of The Week

Hey all! Happy New Year, and I hope you all enjoyed the transition into 2017. To kick off the year, I've decided to make a post giving advice on how to win Star Of The Week, an award presented every Tuesday by Mya to the best dressed Woozen! Here are tips from both myself, other Woozens, and a few previous Star Of The Week winners on how to best impress Mya and give yourself the best chance of winning this title.

1. Choose a unique/distinct colour code and stick to it.

Mya often comments on how she likes the colour code of a winning outfit, and having a colour code on Woozworld is good as a whole, as it makes you stand out in general. While it may be more difficult to find clothing that is colourable/fits your colour code, it is definitely worth it, and showing up for Star Of The Week in your colour code will not only make your items fit together better, but allow you a higher chance to catch the eye of Mya.

2. Mix and match different clothing items.

Mya loves original and unique ideas; after all, we see full outfit sets all the time. Test out how different hairstyles, tops, pants, shoes and other items look when they're put together. You might just find the next popular outfit!

3. Keep up with the trends.

While this tip may seem the complete opposite to the previous one, the previous SOTW winners seemed to all be wearing a mix of popular/new outfit items. While this may be tricky if you haven't got much beex, or aren't a VIP, just having some minor rares will improve your chances of winning. Of course, this isn't compulsory, as I'm sure if you have a great colour code and a mix that looks stunning, you still could have just as good a chance of winning.

4. Submit your selfie in the SOTW pod.

This pod is in the WNTM Runway unitz, and is open for submissions up until the morning of the SOTW event. Just put a Framez on the wall of one of your unitz, and put a picture up of you wearing your outfit. Write a quick description of your outfit in the pod, and submit the unit your photo is in.

5. Be online during SOTW!

This one is the most tricky, and yet the one you have to do in order to have a chance of winning. Get online just before the SOTW event, which is at 3:30pm WT, and enter the unit. It's going to be busy, so I recommend getting there early, even a few hours early, especially if you aren't a VIP. If you're lucky, you'll get in! Either way, you have to be online during and after the event, especially if you win.

And that's about it from me! I hope these tips help you out, particularly if you're aiming for Star Of The Week! Good luck, and thanks for reading!
